Wednesday!!!

Mid week already!!!

Time is flying by here! It's hard to believe we sold the house over 4months ago!

Today there was a lot of downtime- researching- Ira keeps me on my toes with her curiosity and liv is constantly wanting to create.

I spend all day juggling housework, cooking, kindergarten, preschool activities and playing with the baby!

Which is probably why time is going to fast.

We are researching everything autumn, Halloween, etc... Plus we are going to a festival in Chinatown this weekend so we are reading about that as well.

I was presented with this letter first thing-

It's a vampire. Because I read vampire books. Ira said "I even made bloody fangs" (sparkly pink- just like her to make blood sparkle)

Ira also put bells on the tea cupboard so she knows when I'm making tea...

Liv telling me the ducks are waiting for us. Liv cares mostly about 5 things- ducks, art, playing catch, swings and dinosaur train. :)

Pumpkin #2

The nature table
Ira made a squash, grapevines, two pumpkins, a plum and an eggplant... All things we got at the farmers market....

Liv picking out animals to live in her ocean...

She also turned the old ironing board into a skateboard...

We made chocolate coconut milk ice cream- it is delicious.

And we hung the wall art liv and I made yesterday-

I will link to the blog post where I posted about liv finding this heart leaf... It held up well- she was really excited to put it on the cardboard.

We read miss spider for storytime... Liv loves the pics, Ira loves the rhyming....I love the rich vocabulary! Win all around!

Then jared read Ira the rest of sleeping beauty before bed...
He gave me the "44 pages????" look. He was happy to find we had already read the first 25 :)

Monday and Tuesday

Monday and Tuesday were a whirlwind!

There was fresh fruit...

Duck watching...We've watched these ducks grow from tiny babies....

Brownie sharing at tea time...

Fashion designer Ira bijade!
(that's her famous designer name) she was showing off her "tattoo"

Look #2

The girls wanted this book during story time... It was printed the year I was born... It's the longer, well written poetic version... I wonder when authors/publishing houses decided to write books for kids that sound like they are written by 5 year olds.
I find well written books with metered sentences hold the kids' attention so much better than "and then Molly said_____ and then Jimmy said_____"

End rant.

The book-

Bean bag toss- these have held up well- almost two tears now!

A blurry picture- but it captures his silliness well, I think.

He is always smiling... Well almost always....

I love love love that we have toys thy have been through two or three kids and are no more worse for the wear. I can't help but remember liv, not even crawling yet, playing on the floor with that rattle, or how similarly all of them play with this stacking tower....

It also makes me so happy to have toys that LAST! Those wool rings are over two years old! One from etsy (babus) and one from a dear friend in Alaska- hippiediva (who is also on etsy and her own site)

They are in the same condition they were when I bought them! Which is amazing because they are used daily.

Thinking of a cheer...

Liv makes a silly face every time the phone comes out for a picture:)

We made pumpkins for our fall nature table... Ira did the stuffing...

Pumpkin #1

Liv and I worked on some wall hangings for over the nature table- mod podge & things collected on our walks...

Ira is looking older to me these days...

I get this face from her a lot - it usually means "why don't you understand what in saying/trying to convey"

Liv is really into creating- with lots of different supplies- stickers, watercolor, pastels, oil pastels and crayons were all at play here...

Homebound

Jared had lots of homework... So we stuck around the house.

Liv heard ducks, so we went out to see them...

They yelled "heeeeeeereeee duckyyyyyy"

And they came...three at first..

Then more...

These ducks are used to being fed, I think. They came right to us like pets... But we do not feed wild animals- so into the house for hot cocoa!

And music....

For what it's worth, that cd is not my favourite...

Then the unicorn club called an emergency- the lion club was out to get us! There were two hours full of sign posting, map making, etc etc...

Map of our house...

Clue- complete with code for alarm system on back...

Map, monster faces to scare off lion club member(bc to date jared us only lion club member- he apparently was kicked out of the unicorn club)

Ira color coordinated the drawing to the sticker...its fun seeing her start to notice little things like that...

We finally had some of the coconut milk ice cream! Better than the store bought (and less ingredients too)
This was cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla flavoured....

We read another book we picked up at city lights.... This is a great book for people new to San Francisco/bay area.... Lots of info we didn't know and lots of places to see that we hadn't heard of!

I also received an email from a homeschooler in the area listing 25 things to do in San Francisco -it almost feels overwhelming!
Lucky for us, we all enjoy being in the city and sight seeing. We have lots of exploring to do.
