Ferry Farmers Market

Ira excited to go...

The view...

This city is amazing... Parking far away just means you get to take in more of it... We love it here.

Can you believe I only took one picture?!
All the food was delicious! And relatively cheap...

We tossed some pennies in a fountain...

This bag is 100% compostable! Love. We got it from the grape stand... It's full of organic grapes- $5!!!! We got a late start and didn't make it to the market until noon- the guy was packing up for the day and gave us waaaaay more than we paid for!

We got pickles, plums, peaches, collard greens, arugula, heirloom tomatoes....
Doesn't this bunch scream "make babaganoush!"

Iras new fab snack- figs!
She said she's "in love with figs!"
"obsessed with figs"
Her words.
Her picture;)

We also hand felted some wool reusable coffee cup/hot cocoa cup sleeves...even jared got in on the felting... Then said, "we need a washboard..."
It is tiring and time consuming...

Still trying to get the sizes right... True to my nature, I'm not using a pattern. I'm sure there are a bunch out there. But I apparently like to learn things the long hard way.

Nature walks and dinosaurs...

Liv woke up bright eyed way early... So while the rest of us caught up to her alertness, she played super why on the iPad.

She can correctly identify the entire alphabet in random order and she can choose the correct letter from sets of three.

Liv then made me a birthday cake...

Our first walk of the day- looking for signs of fall....

Collected some twigs for a craft we have planned....

After lunch- and an outfit change or two or three- We went on another walk.... More leaves...

Liv found a heart shaped red one!

Picked this flower from our patio....

Left it for our faeries.....

After looking at some other blogs, And seeing lots of people making tipi dwellings out of sticks and sheets- Ira said- we should use daddy's camera stand, then we don't need sticks or rope!"

So I pulled out an old blanket.... As I draped it, Ira said "no!!! They didn't use plain white! They put symbols on it!"

She added a unicorn, because we are the unicorn clan and she added mobsters to "scare away the evil spirits". I love it because it really showed that she was absorbing all that information from our roadtrip through Montana, South Dakota, etc.

She even added a painted horse...

And a tent for her animals

Liv did some drawing/coloring...

And then we read about dinosaurs...

August 1st

Today is the first day of the last full month of summer. The midpoint between the summer solstice and the autumnal equinox... Where crops are harvested and baking starts and people start prepping for fall... At least in some parts of the country.... Never anywhere we live :)

Still, we thought we would got to the farmers market but missed it- which is just as well since it would probably make us sad about STILL not having a kitchen.

So we went to trader joes and jamba juice....

Popsicles...

A house for kitty waggers...

Fort building.... It's always awesome to see how much a simple fort inspires children.... Hours. Hours of play.

Then we lot our candle

And I read Ira two chapters of nostradormouse....

Then Ira read/listened to/played the miss spider app.

Then liv watched some caillou

And this tired mama bounced and rocked and hummed and sang and walked and bounce and sang this exhausted boy to sleep while daddy finished up his last assignment of the semester...

One week off and it's the start of a new job/ new semester!
Let's hope we have a place by then:)

banners, MORE dragons, random scenes and valentines

another craazzzy fun day!

last night, i cut up a BUNCH of random sized hearts and heart hole punched some confetti. I left it out so that we wouldnt have to prep before craft time (which is impossible really, now that all crafts are done with emers in the ellaroo wrap.

well.... i woke up to valentines in bed~ ira and daddy got up early and she saw all the stuff and got right to business.

love it.

once I was up... we put on our stand by fav album and got to work ;)

i got the inspiration here at scrumdillydilly..... ira LOVED this! she has plans to lace her name for a banner. and every person we know may just get a banner of THEIR names.... she was REALLY REALLY into it!

and look how far we have come with our wheel of the year project!

these are two funny signs from outside her playroom.... the one on left is a "no cranky people allowed" sign.... the right is a poster for her next puppet show.

3D magnetic play ;)

then we soaked some mung beand for dinner...

a quick random pic of liv being a kitty mama....

our WIP: dragon for chinese new year! only a little more to go!
we took a 1/4 cup or so of the mung beans and left them to soak because ira was super interested in the whole process....
