Spring!

We added some new things to spruce up the patio now that we are getting some nicer weather!

a sand table....

We had bought things to go to a gardening/faerie space building meet up- but late bedtimes left us with cranky kids...

So we did it this evening here at home. We planted some seeds and Ira added the gnomes and mushrooms she painted.

Emers being helpful... :)

*I* got wind chimes. Really great sounding chimes.....

And a new game on clearance for $1.98! Not super fun..... For adults.

But the kids loved it!

Monday!

What a great day!

Ira challenged liv to a game while I may lunch.

Emers loooooves bubbles....

There was painting....

Ira read me a couple books. There is nothin cooler than your baby reading to you. I mean, the baby that's about to turn 6!

We walked to the park when Jared got home...

Emers and his love of flowers.... Flowers and ducks. Those are the two thugs that he gets the most excited about. As we walk along the water he makes this quacking noise. So cute...

Liv the spinning ballerina....

Park...

I think they love each other...

Then we came home and Ira worked 5 pages of "explode the code". She is really amped up to learn to read to play scrabble with me on the iPad. Or words with friends with her aunt in Vegas.

Redwoods and trains and games....

We went to hike in some redwoods....

Emers was too excited.

Can you tell we miss sunny Arizona?!

Train! We took a train ride up through the redwoods to bear mountain. I LOVED the open air ride. Well, minus the spider that fell on me.

Liv did not Like the whistle! It was loud! Terrified Emers too!

Hilarious picture.
Ira- always smiling.
Liv- covering ears
Me- always with sun in my eyes and me making a face.

Ira definitely enjoyed herself...

Liv got a little antsy towards the end- she was ready to RUN!

Then we went home, had a snack, facetimed with our new newborn nephew and started GAME NIGHT!

Ira so amused with the fact that she is winning (and not because we werent trying).

Friday

Ira wrapped up zooples in coordinating kite paper.... They were seeds to be planted, and the kite paper was keeping them warm.

It also led to Ira leading us in a Simon says sort of game.
"seed says- sprout!"
"seed says- grow through the dirt!"
"seed says bloom towards the sun"

I said "give me a 'I'm a super serious artist' face!" and this is what she did!

I turned my back for two seconds and he grabbed the bread off the counter.

Which is why the girls have to put puzzles together on the table.

I used a new method to cook sweet potatoes tonight (from Here!)and I don't think I'll ever cook them another way!

Slice them thick, toss with oil. Bake 30minutes at 350 and then turn it up to 400 for the last 20minutes.

Sooooo good.
