oh no.

i cannot believe this is legal right here in my state!

prepare yourself

bendith stays.

we started to cut it down, and our chainsaw broke. we got a new one, but then loaned out our drill with our only batteries for it awhile ago not thinking.

then- we borrowed our neighbours chainsaw- it wont start.

so we ask our friend that owns a landscaping co. to come out- everytime they started to cut- the chain would loosen.

to quote my dh- "i dont want any "fern gully" sh*t happening- the tree stays".

no. no. no.

crash. boom. crashing. more crashing.

cat running.

it broke our playstand canopy- brought it to the ground while climbing on it. All her toys scattered everywhere. .thank goodness the dollhouse it fell on is fine.

its totally glueable/fixable.

but walking past the room and seeing it in disrepair makes me sad.

they grow too fast

liv ROLLED OVER on saturday!

From beck to belly.

crazy.

More Baby News!

My best friend of 22 years and counting had her second child, a boy, at home thursday morning!

I couldn't be happier, or more proud.

Of course, I will add that it was very sad for me that i couldnt get to texas to actually BE THERE.

She attended ira's birth, and i attended her daughter's birth. But she missed liv's and i her son's.

boo.

but, i guess at this point, we have already sealed so many childhood promises-

live together- check!

move away- check!

marry best friends- check!

be with each other when we have our first baby- check!

so, i will settle with

have our second babies at HOME, in WATER, within 3 MONTHS of each other- check!

so what if we are in different states?

the flags i made her got there in time.

ira gave them a hug & kiss before i put them in the envelope- so it was important to us they ge tthere in time.

yay babies!

Photobucket

not your average library trip......

nope. not at all.

I swear, too, that right as I was walking out the door i had a thought- "grab the camera".

I laughed at myself- why would anyone need a camera at the library?

right? right!

except on wednesday- i did, in fact, need a camera at the library.

i am forever saying how lucky i think my kids are to grow up in the desert. i grew up in the midwest- we could go to the lake, or 4 wheeling in a forest- but it was all pretty run of the mill stuff. Here in tucson, everything is awe inspiring. The mountains, the cacti, the canyons, monsoons, wildflowers, the SUNSETS- my word, the SUNSETS!

well, this particular wednesday morning we decided to go to the library. Our local library is right at the edge of suburban development and therefore we still see quite a bit of undisturbed "wildlife". As we were approaching the library drop off, ira said, "look mama! a roadrunner!" I look to where she is motioning and, ,indeed! there is a roadrunner.
We watch it for a bit and then proceed to the drop off. I am lost in thought for a moment about HOW COOL i think it is to see "wildlife" at the library! The only wildlife i saw as a kid were squirrels.

I put our books in the drop off and as i turn to walk away- something catches my eye.

Something large, black and slooooooow moving by my left foot.

Yep, that's right. TWO- THREE INCHES FROM MY LEFT FOOT IS-----------

a tarantula.

Well, to avoid passing on my PHOBIA- I played it real cool.

"ira look! a tarantula! Come closer and look."

my daughter, "no"

"its not dangerous keira, come see it"

"no, mama. I can see it from here".

Seems like good sense.

So we left, and the entire day i was convinced it was in my car.

wildlife.

i miss squirrels.
