Leaves!

We are putting our library cards to work!!! Three trips to library in one week!

Lego truck building...

Walks...long walks. Emers and Liv are hilarious in the stroller together. Emers is just now getting to the point where I can take him out of the carrier for longer periods.

We found a huge pile of leaves..

This look is priceless.

They also found a new friend. They ended up playing with him for a while in the leaves.

This is ira's silly walkin' face.

An this is why I usually bring out the triple stroller for long walks. Eventually Ira gets tired.

Liv fed Emers her sauerkraut. My babies love their fermented foods!

Friday

Ira wrapped up zooples in coordinating kite paper.... They were seeds to be planted, and the kite paper was keeping them warm.

It also led to Ira leading us in a Simon says sort of game.
"seed says- sprout!"
"seed says- grow through the dirt!"
"seed says bloom towards the sun"

I said "give me a 'I'm a super serious artist' face!" and this is what she did!

I turned my back for two seconds and he grabbed the bread off the counter.

Which is why the girls have to put puzzles together on the table.

I used a new method to cook sweet potatoes tonight (from Here!)and I don't think I'll ever cook them another way!

Slice them thick, toss with oil. Bake 30minutes at 350 and then turn it up to 400 for the last 20minutes.

Sooooo good.

SUN!

It's the equivalent of the ice cream truck. We see it and run as fast a we can into it.

We miss home.

Last night we were all in the office looking at old pictures. Pictures of a year ago when Emers was born, of 2.5 years ahi when liv was born.

Ira said, "I really miss home. I had forgotten it. But now I see it and I really really miss it"

That was a hard moment for all of us.

So when the sun came out today, we went for it.

Trying to enjoy the beauty of falling leaves. Something that we didn't get a whole lot of in Arizona.

Bright red leaves....

Collecting fallen seed pods/caps for fairy hats.

One duck, two duck....

Then they spot you...an start flying in.

Once home Ira set up a cafe as we were all starving.

Sunday

We spent the morning watching boat races from our living room...

We had to run to the store for a few groceries and the girls decided they HAD to be fancy... I asked them if I could take a picture and this happened...

No posing for them.

Then Ira drew this timeline of events...backwards because she wanted to draw the tree first :) the last pic is a fancy skull, she said there were too many things to draw for martinmas so she was just going to write it.

We found this at the store- a Buddha hand lemon. No idea what to do with it yet.

Sunday

Yesterday at the festival, we were unable to eat any of the moon cakes... They were everywhere and looked delicious.

I promise everyone I would make something cake like for breakfast.

Well I found a box o pancake mix at whole foods that looked pretty good and decided to treat myself to something easy to prepare.

The most hilarious part was when Ira said "your making pancakes!? I love making pancakes. She came running in to help- grabbed the measuring cups.

When I opened the bag an dumped it in she said "what about the baking soda? The vanilla? The salt?! The egg?"

She gave it a weird look and said "will it even TASTE like pancakes"

I had to reassure her it was all there.

They were good... But not as good as scratch. I think i should have added an egg.

We went for a walk to pick up dry cleaning...

Found some toadstools...

I then took liv on a walk just the two of us... She wants to stop and examine everything...

And she could build sandcastles for hours...

Ira made banjos for the family band...
