Thorn in the paw!

Ira put on a little play about a bear with a thorn in it's paw... She drew this flyer for it...






We popped off the dried Indian corn for future necklaces...





Pumpkin carving...











He likes to eat with utensils, but hasn't mastered getting food on to the utensil, so he picks up the food and puts it on the spoon, then eats it.





And if he still can't manage to keep the food on the spoon all the way to his mouth- he just uses his hands.

The zebra?
Liv Insisted that she wanted to be a ghost for weeks. Weeks. I made her a costume an she wore it all day.

5 minutes before leaving- she refused to wear it! Jared and I scrambled to find something that he would wear- it ended up being this zebra ear/tail we had in the dress up bin from last years clearance sale at target! I think it was 90cents!





I said "some me your tail!" and she did this!!!





We went to a safe trick or treat neighbourhood that was about a mile walk from us. It was very fun, but crowded and dark- so no pictures.

She traded it for organic and gluten free yummy candy...

We bought all thi to hand out an then didn't get any trick or treaters!
I'm only half sad about that ;)

Pumpkins!!!!!!

Random pumpkin patch stop!

We had to go to jareds work so we stopped at a roadside farm for more butternut squash and decided to also go for a jump house/slide visit. It was a week day and close to closing time, so we were one of a handful of patrons. Best time to go apparently! Everyone was so helpful and friendly.

The man working the jump houses was so nice.





Train was done for the day- bit they let the kids play on it-





This. Slide. Was. So. Much. Fun.








Seriously, we went down the slide sooooo many times! It was a hard climb up, but sooooo worth it. The whole family had a blast! (and a workout)

We hadn't planne on getting pumpkins, but the prices were good and the staff was so accommodating.... That we piled a few up. There is no such thing as too much squash.





Emers rode in the sling. He was the official kombucha holder.


The girls were excited to see all the Lady bugs on the sunflowers...

Michaelmas

Liv woke up and put this on immediately- she said,"I'm a beautiful ballet dancer- just like daddy" :)



I took some inspiration from this pumpkin to knit a new hat for liv- she's been asking for a new hat for a couple days...








We drew dragons...


Liv said," I draw a p!" the second ones grow too fast...


And the third ones? He has two kids he is trying to keep up with-

And after liv, Ira AND I tried to crack it- we called in daddy.

up until recently, ira has been pretty unimpressed with watercolors.... she prefers to paint with tempera or acrylics... i wondered if it was because i only paint with acrylics and oil.... so I pulled out the watercolors and painted her this after she went to bed-

then, when she woke up and saw it, she asked for another- I painted her this and showed her a little more about how watercolors work....



and she was off... she. painted. all. day.
not a couple hours... all day.





lived joined in a little. but she mostly watercolored herself, the remote... and my arm.




after a while, she started making playscapes... and then painting her pet shop's feet and making prints. it was very cute.
