so much painting, so much laughter...

i bought a bunch of washable paint....

i have been worrying about our first painting session inside the RV.... these kids get wild and it can go from painting heaven to full on chaos in seconds.


well, the paint is amazing.... it came off of

 the ceiling

and my clothes   and the walls, and the cabinets


and daddy's new coat.....


it was great.


worry free painting.




and really pretty colors- for being washable paint....

this was emer's first painting session where he wasn't trying to just eat the paint or rub the paint all over himself....

before i went to nursing school, i always wanted to work in Art Therapy.


Specifically, I wanted to go into hospitals, cancer treatment facilities and homes of the terminally ill and facilitate the creation of art through their own hands, feet, etc.

Since having kids, i have always felt it was really important to open up the bottles and let them free flow with all the mediums and without confines and without worries of mess.




Unfortunately, this RV *is* small enough that it has caused me to hesitate when it came to painting...

i was worried about MESS.


ME!!!!!


anyone that has even been to my house in tucson would be shocked.

we used to write on the walls with chalk, pens, paint, whatever.

at any random time there were bound to be

drying papier mache dragons,


    or a half dozen half painted painted canvas
   

                   500 smashed crayons all over the floor, (or melting in the oven.....)

             



or, lets be real, children ACTIVELY painting ON the floor while i baked something.



going from OWNING a house to renting an apartment- well, it broke me a little.

i keep forgetting-

so, im embracing my old messy artist self.... and trying to release the last year of "don't do that. don't do this. this isn't our house!'









and in other, more hilarious news- after cleaning up the kids, emers walked passed me knitting and said "bye!"

he wanted to go outside- in his underwear- at 9p.m.  in 40degree weather....




we got him a little more protected and off him and his daddy went.


he is getting so big!!!!!

recovery...

we all slept last night!!!!

thank goodness!

we made gluten free cookies today to celebrate...

ira made an elevator for her pet shops...

then the lego bug bit ira and she was in that world for a couple hours... she even made two videos....

we went for a walk, but left my phone on accident...

i was too frustrated with my iphone blogging app- it ate three posts yesterday and is still not working!

blogging from the laptop after having an easy phone app seems so hard!

one week on vacation- and the next week CHICKEN POX!

this was almost one year ago, feb 21, 2008.... we went on a short hike with some friends to find this sun circle. i was 7 months pregnant and had to scale a sand embankment... which was hilarious all on its own.

i slipped a little, and irs'a little hand grabbed me... this story is still told by ira and it goes like this, "one time, we were climbing a mountain and momma fell, but i caught her and saved her! im a reeeaaally good climber"

its usually told right after we ask her not to climb something dangerous!

workin'

we have been working our behinds off all week.

rearranging rooms, creating an office and art room combo, a good and USEFUL second bedroom..... perfecting our playroom....digging holes for our bamboo (yep- with babe on back...more on THAT later)....making fresh organic scratch pancakes and fresh veggie/fruit juice everyday for my family- including jared who was off of work allllll week.

we did all of this while dealing with major plumbing issues/ bad plumbers for 4 days and then one REALLY AMAZING PLUMBER that fixed it in just 4 short hours.

i'll be back to blogging soon.... jared is giving ira a detailed lesson on king arthur and i HAVE to hear it.....

Domestic Rockstar

i feel quite amazing at the moment.

We woke up, went hiking...took my rockstar worker man coffee & a snack since he was too busy for lunch.

grocery shopping.

crazy good burritos with rancher ground beef, roasted beets, quinoa, dollop sour cream on tortilla paired with a salad of spinach, romaine, parsley, radishes, raw sharp cheese mmmmmmmmmmmm.........

on the table. when the man came home [late]


read books, pretended to be an archer, discussed the heart, listened to ira's heart and taught her where to listen to mine... crawled around on floor, got "massage" by ira, danced to ska music & billie holiday, started a load of laundry, laughed til i cried with the family at a funny show.

nursed the elf to sleep while the man read even more books to the faerie.

both children asleep by 9!

watched eli stone with the man. uploading pics.

it does feel good to be a gangsta.

oh, and the man cleaned the kitchen harvested the grapefruit & lemon trees and brought the bamboo indoors- we are expecting a possible freeze tonight- crazy!

"ira, would you like to learn to ride horses?"

"yes, but i want to wait until the yellow one is born-- mama- are horses born? do they make them in their bellies??"

3 -- Breasts get three times the size you ever thought they could ever be.....

4 -- Breastmilk comes from not just one hole on the nipple, but about a thousand!

5 -- Instincts are very real....

6 -- trying not to pee your pants and sneeze at the same time is an art.

7 -- do NOT try to subsist on walnuts and whole milk- you are not a genius-that is not the perfect way to get energy and never put your baby down. its a BAD IDEA!
