Homemade Gluten Free Play Clay... The recipe was not the best. Took a lot of tweaking and kneading and tweaking and kneading...
I showed the kids my old fashioned pretzel twisting skills.
I worked at a pretzel shop Han rolling pretzels when I was 16. 14 years ago!!! Hah!

Dog.

Ira rolled & twisted her own pretzel!!!

Curried lentils and rice for dinner...

Sunday Hike
We found a skeleton...

Our reflections...

Puddles...

Birds & anise...

We tried to get to the beach...

But after stopping to check out lots of mushrooms...

And having to walk around several rather DEEP crevices...

We didn't feel up to the steep hike down ;)

It was a 2 mile hike. I had one of 3 kids on my back the whole time....
Afterwards, we stopped to rest our feet at the ballpark before walking home...

::Small Business Saturday::
We decided to skip Starbucks and instead give our business to a small local coffee house...
They had a bunch of toys and games for kids...

And the best Mexican Mocha I've had since we lived just north of Tijuana, in Imperial Beach....

We went to the beach to check out the negative tide, but as fate would have it- we picked the wrong beach and the tide never really receded...
We had fun anyway!
Some friends met up with us and we dug and hopped and snacked...

I got buried...Emers actually was un-digging me the whole time. He was a little worried.

Gorgeous sunset...

::friday::
We did NOT go black Friday shopping.
We woke up, ate delicious sweet potato pancakes...

Went for a scenic drive....

Then for a spectacular hike...

Colorful fall trees!

Jared read this sign and the girls wanted to turn back...

But the mud and fallen leaves lured them in...

This was the view from the trail.

So so magnificent. Awe struck.

The forest was in full on fall misty green mode....

Banana slugs were everywhere! Liv was the best spotter!

Ira was more than a little overwhelmed at the climb back out....

It WAS a pretty steep trail.

I took this on the drive home. It was SUCH a pretty day...

Happy Days....
Ira shocked me with her latest creation....
I was knitting, and she brought me pieces of paper to color yellow and brown stripes on. She drew jewels on another piece.
She then arranged them in a pattern on the floor and taped them together.
When she folded them up into a box, I was impressed. When I realized she had arranged each piece of paper correctly as to make this treasure chest?! It blew my mind.
:)

This was the map she drew... Afterwards she said "I know south and east are reversed... I forgot for a minute"

Then we used her sundial to find the time...

The Littles got a lesson on how to safely walk the plank...

We ate raspberries...

Turkey legs...

Olives....

Then we had tea and walnuts and apples....
