driving off/10 minute sketches

as we pulled out of tucson, we were ALL more than a LITTLE sad.

to pass the time and take our mind off of leaving our friends and our city... we did quite a few rounds of "10 minute sketches"

this is an exercise i have done for years. i only let myself sketch for 5or 10 minutes, then switch. It saves me from obsessing over the drawing looking perfect. it helps just to get the memory on paper.

this is mine of my flowers from liv and J....

a road sign and deer....

this is ira's first "sketch". before she would always look at something and think "ill draw an apple" and then turn and draw an apple from memory. this was a bush from the desert. she was so excited!!!!

she kept sketching all day....

i thought that her first still life of fruit was awesome!!!!!!!!!

emers like adding to her drawings...

ira made me this awesome card that took forever because she wanted it to be the most colorful card ever.

then ira did this still life of a rock. and added the shadow. i was impressed. i always am.....

when it started to get dark, this was our view of the amazing sunset.....

what a TRIP its been!
