We have been reading up on some classics and preparing for another trip to the de young on Friday.

During their art time, she recreated some classics...

Then she had me help her write out this sign for the salon...


Then she made this...


Swan lake... Reimagined...

The good fairies and unicorns help the swans turn the evil sorcerers into aliens with chicken pox that get swallowed up by the swan lake shark.


The COOLEST part, for me, was that she wrote those words without me. She sounded them out. Except for the Y after YA. She asked if it was just YA.... She is really getting it, on her own schedule. Love it.

Sunday with a Tourist

We picked him up at the airport- drove past a too busy ferry building, a bike race, a too busy fishermans wharf, and then to our favorite place to eat...

Ferry Building Farmers Market

After we got home, I left the kids for the first time in YEARS.... To go to the grocery store...

Golden Gate Park

We love golden gate park. We have a membership at the De Young, so we went down to explore the New Guinea exhibit.


Walking over, they pretended to jump in the fountain...(there is an inner ledge)





Ira viewing the painting from afar, and then close. She is so interested, we could spend hours in each exhibit.













Then the Teotihuacan exhibit...





The younger two kids are pretty patient and willing to stay interested for about 2 hours before they need a break....











We went to see the buffalo paddock, but the the kids found this little furry thing ;)

It came out and hid and came out and hid... They were so excited. Then it burrowed down and covered it's hole.











Conservatory of flowers was next on their list....

The girls tried to teach Emers to roll down the hills.

















He just clapped for them...











Until right before we were leaving...











The fog rolled in thick on the way home.
