With all the craziness of july, we promised the kids that august would be the "Month of FUN".... Each day THEY DECIDE everything since for the most part, july was spent being dragged from one place to the next. (except for when awesome visiting friends hung out with them)

Today is the first day!

The list:

Liv requested lots of cuddles...

Popcorn- 3 FULL batches. With butter and salt.

While laying Emerson down for a nap, I heard this noise- the unmistakeable noise if destruction. I said "children, what is that noise of destruction?!"

Imagine how pleased I was when they ran to show me this:

A zhu zhu pet bed made from a recycled water jug!

They sawed that hole with a plastic kids knife.....

It got too late too fast....and 1/3 of the children fell asleep. So the campfire was postponed and s'mores were made with propane :) and fed to mama.

Life is sooo tasty:)

On the road in the RV!!!!

We met my awesome friend carrie for coffee before hitting the road...

I had, literally, just rolled out of bed :)

Kids were so excited to finally get moving!

The drive through Colorado mountains was stunning!

We scored almost a full tank of waste veg!

We ended up stopping for the night in the middle of nowhere Utah. The rv park was CHEAP. It was not pretty. :)

Day 2

Utah rain...

More waste veg...

Denny's. For the record- the ONLY gluten free items there: eggs & bacon...

Daddy was TIRED from a morning of driving without coffee- we didn't bring the keurig ;)

We pulled off to let the storm pass because winds were HIGH and we were on a mountain pass.

The kids enjoyed watching the storm...

Ira kept saying "were doomed" and then giving me this look...

We got to Vegas- went to whole foods and met up with DIANNA!!!!!

They played and told stories and watched movies until the girls fell asleep.

We were all very sad to not have more time together! :(

Ira's Birth Day!!!

My sweet sweet little girl turned SIX!!!!

She had been sick the whole day before, but woke up feeling good!

Ira has been such a force in my life. She has taught me how to see the good in everything, and how to be more sensitive.

She is almost always happy to see anyone and never runs down a race or opportunity to play.

Her lust for life is awe inspiring.

We started off the day with presents! Isn't daddy's wrapping job superb?!

Then we made a cake. Due to elevation and poor planning on my part- it exploded.

A little creative cutting and it was at least in the shape o a unicorn.... Kinda.

Ira and her BFF L decorated it themselves with only a little help.

I think it's perfect!

All the kids needed matching pigtails....

The plan was a park birthday. But Colorado had other plans, it stormed! So we ran to target and made do with random indoor party games.
