ZOO day in pics!
It was a nice and chilly morning, so we set out for the zoo since the animals would be more active!
First we rode the train- all alone.... liv was waaaay cold.
Then, we fed the giraffes.... but never get pictures....lol
Next- Conservation Learning Center....
this is set up so you can draw what you see in the tank....
but what is in ira's head is waaaaaay more fun.....
this is a fishbowl with fish (far left), wolf (center) and bear with glasses (right)
This is in the running as my favourite ira illustration yet.... a jellyfish weighlifting....

This is what fall looks like in the desert....
Hunting for our favourite birds in the aviary.....
our favourite is the bleeding heart dove.... we couldnt find them...
these pretty things....

up until recently, ira has been pretty unimpressed with watercolors.... she prefers to paint with tempera or acrylics... i wondered if it was because i only paint with acrylics and oil.... so I pulled out the watercolors and painted her this after she went to bed-
then, when she woke up and saw it, she asked for another- I painted her this and showed her a little more about how watercolors work....
and she was off... she. painted. all. day.
not a couple hours... all day.
lived joined in a little. but she mostly watercolored herself, the remote... and my arm.
after a while, she started making playscapes... and then painting her pet shop's feet and making prints. it was very cute.

During my blog binge- I read Are We There Yet? and was inspired by her spooky village....
except we didnt cut out anything or hand paint anything or hang spiderwebs or string lights. lol
I took them out back and spray painted them, let them dry and then ira went to townwith her stick on foam shapes we got discounted at joanns. I wanted it to be all her craft. We set it up next to her foam house.
Ira and live also made some pirate flags with more discounted craft items!
Ira colored in the shapes and I glued them to our seasonal wreath box.....
