Domestic Rockstar

thats me!

i feel quite amazing at the moment.

We woke up, went hiking...took my rockstar worker man coffee & a snack since he was too busy for lunch.

grocery shopping.

crazy good burritos with rancher ground beef, roasted beets, quinoa, dollop sour cream on tortilla paired with a salad of spinach, romaine, parsley, radishes, raw sharp cheese mmmmmmmmmmmm.........

on the table. when the man came home [late]

read books, pretended to be an archer, discussed the heart, listened to ira's heart and taught her where to listen to mine... crawled around on floor, got "massage" by ira, danced to ska music & billie holiday, started a load of laundry, laughed til i cried with the family at a funny show.

nursed the elf to sleep while the man read even more books to the faerie.

both children asleep by 9!

watched eli stone with the man. uploading pics.

it does feel good to be a gangsta.

oh, and the man cleaned the kitchen harvested the grapefruit & lemon trees and brought the bamboo indoors- we are expecting a possible freeze tonight- crazy!

funny of the day-

"ira, would you like to learn to ride horses?"

"yes, but i want to wait until the yellow one is born-- mama- are horses born? do they make them in their bellies??"

i love her.

life

and how I love her.

ira teaching liv to crawl

open letter

to that little tiny woman's voice in my head....

Dear little tiny voice in my mind-

Im not going to care about the 15 stickers stuck to my tile floor. or the dust and cat hair on the base boards in my bathroom.

or the ever growing pile of clean laundry in my bedroom.... Im sure one day, when my children are old enough to not want to play with me every second- it will be cleaner around here.

tiny woman, I do not care that my couch is stained, and covered with pretty blankets.... my 3 year old thinks it looks "beatiful!"

I also am totally not concerned with allll the fingerprints alllllll over my stainless fridge, oven and dishwasher..... so you can stop clabbering on and on about that as well.

so if you cannot think of anything nice to say, just sit there and watch me crawl around on the floor with my 7 month old and listen to me reading books and cuddling with my 3 year old.

Because if I do not stop listening to you and trying to please you- i might miss this.

and ust as a warning- I hear that they make medications these days that remove you permanently... just saying...

consider this your fair warning...

i miss you

saint nicholas day!!!!

we woke up shouting!

its here.

Ira opened the last & final box of her playmobile advent- revealing santa claus.... such a lovely oppurtunity to learn about saint nicholas and his beautiful generosity.

We discussed how saint nicholas would walk through the town, and that children would leave their boots outside with some hay for his horse.... in hopes of him leaving a coin, or golden walnut, or chocolate or some other bit behind.

We also talked about how the current practice of pretending santa is real came about from this saint... and that the real reason for honoring saint nicholas (or santa) should be about his unselfish love & spirit of giving & taking care of those that needed when in the position to do so.... and so very much NOT about prettending that their is a happy jolly man leaving loads of plastic melamine laden piles of presents in their living room because they were "good".

great lesson for children & adults alike, no doubt.

given the recent atrocities of this past black friday.... our convictions in this home to stay very far from anything christmas/consumer are stronger than ever.

on a very special saint nicholas day, i hope these words find everyone, safe, warm & full of love!

playmobile makes me smile!

if it does the same for you- enjoy-

more botanical garden pics!

how sweet it is...

to walk past the bathroom and find ira.... and a sink full of baby toys.

"whatcha doing?"

"cleaning toys for baby liv"

"oh, why?"

"because i found them under the couch & i think they might be dirty....she puts them in her mouth mama.... "

yes, its confirmed.... i birthed the sweetest & most considerate 3 year old ever.

;)
